VanEd Presents: Land Conservation & Permission to Build: available online

VanEd has launched two CE courses in Colorado. These on-line courses are sponsored by the Planning Institute of Colorado (PIC), a non-profit organization affiliated with the American Planning Association Colorado Chapter. The Institute primarily exists to expand the knowledge and understanding of planning concepts for individuals that deal in land use and land use planning.

Courses are continually updated by a team of PIC instructors and are geared to the needs of the individual practitioner, whether that be in real estate, appraisal, or other real estate industry professional.

• Land Conservation - This course reviews the many purposes, benefits and tools of land conservation. Hypothetical examples drawn from real situations help highlight the issues. Links to web sites provide more detailed information, and help acquaint the student with the many organizations and government agencies involved in land conservation.

• Permission to Build - Development review is a process conducted primarily by city and county governments that examines proposed land development activity. The intent is to conduct a professional review, with all information open to the public, resulting in the granting of rights to develop land.

2012 CREC Annual Update Course updated to cover new BPO rules

 

The 2012 Colorado Real Estate Commission Annual Update Course for real estate brokers is online and available at VanEd. This year the DRE sought input from no only the education task force but also E&O Insurance providers (including RIC, the state's group policy carrier). This years course covers advertising on social media, new forms and contracts that real estate professionals must now use and a host of new position statements. Van Education Center is an approved provider with the Colorado Division of Real Estate and the course is live and available online today.

In any three-year license renewal cycle brokers need to take this course annually (3 times) to equal 12 hours of Update Course credit as part of the 24 hours of total education required.

This course is presented without modification as required by the Colorado Real Estate Commission (CREC). This will be the only CREC Annual Update course offered by the CREC in 2012. If necessary, updates will be made to this course during the year as required by law changes, regulatory changes or the CREC. The first update was completed March 29th as the CREC updated Rule E-42 concerning BPOs. Real Estate brokers will now be required to provide a new disclosure on all BPOs. The new information is presented both online and in the eBook for the update course.

Students will also be introduced to various concepts, including:

• compliance issues for real estate brokers

• new and proposed regulations
• new language for BPOs (rule E-42 update)
