On October 30th, just hours before the Red Flags compliance rules were set to take effect on November 1st, the FTC delayed enforcement of the “Red Flags” Rule until June 1, 2010, for financial institutions and creditors subject to enforcement by the FTC.
The FTC had previously delayed enforcement until November 1st, 2009 to give those coming under the rules time to comply. This latest delay came at the request of Members of Congress, according to an October 30th press release from the FTC.
