The National Association of REALTORS® announced today that litigation between the association and the Department of Justice has been resolved, and that a proposed final order in the case would be filed in federal district course today, ending a long-standing case that was set to go to trial in July.
The final order provides that NAR does not admit liability and that no payments will be made in connection with the settlement. NAR also states that they will reinstate and updated Virtual Office web site policy that had been rescinded back in 2005 when the DOJ challenged provisions of that policy. The updated policy will protect sellers from having false or unwanted information appear of the VOW of an MLS member.
